Take me back
To Australia
After I had finished school in 2006, I went backpacking for 8 months through this marvellous country. I learned there to trust myself, went couchsurfing at the most welcoming places, met the most wonderful people and swore to myself I would come back one day. this song is my way of active anticipation as I feel this day drawing near.
dear tom, I know that you have a very special relation to Australia, too. I have seen your legendary concert in sydney opera and I thought as we share the same love, you might wish to come back here as well.
Verse1
Baby, don’t we share an ancient story?
Baby, won’t we dare to reprise again all this memory
Baby, don’t be scared, don’t wanna go on
Without you
This is the time to remind,
Is the place to remember
This is the time, do you remember?
Chorus
Will you take me back
To where you taught me to trust a dreamer
Take me back
To where I got to be just a believer
A lonely road with an open arm
An embrace of hope in the break of dawn
You’re letting me shake with thunder
Never knew I left my heart down under
Verse2
Facing the danger, no fear, no worries
Friends with a stranger, way ahead of all time with no hurry
Nothing can change us, can’t say what I’d be
Without you
This is the time to remind,
Is the place to remember
This is the time, do you remember?
Chorus
Will you take me back …
Bridge [Anthem]
O, you children of the sun
Are you with me when we’re coming home
Where our world keeps turning heart to heart
We’ll never be alone
So, let us chase the dream of who we are
In the shelter of our crossing stars
Praising on and on and on
The beauty of the place where we belong
Chorus
Will you take me back…
